Use Hotel Reservations.com When You Travel

I like to go on vacation just as much as the next guy. There are plenty of hotel comparisons websites out there on the internet. I have gone to some of them to make Hotel Reservations, including hotelreservations.com. As soon as you get to their website you see a search form that will allow you to make a quick search for hotels in the areas that you are planning on traveling to.

HotelReservations.com has the Guaranteed Lowest Rates! They also have a destination guide and accept group bookings. The website is really easy to use and laid out neatly. The website can also be converted into any language and currency. On the website you can search for hotels, cars, flights, vacation rentals or vacation packages. The website has a wealth of other knowledge as well. Vacation and fun guides to specific cities. I just did a simple search on their form and the Hotel Reservations on their site were about $10 cheaper than another site I checked into.

When you have to go to a city that you have never been to, a website like HotelReservations.com is very helpful. When you can read reviews of hotels or see pictures of them, you can make your decision much easier than if you didn't get that additional information. Also, when the website shows you area attractions it's much easier to plan a whole vacation without having to wait until you get there to do it. www.HotelReservations.com allows you to look at locations worldwide. Now you will know what it costs, in that currency, before you even book the vacation.

The pricing at HotelReservations.com is very comparable to other sites, but actually seems quite low for worldwide destinations. For your next Hotel Reservations, go to their site and check out the search feature at least.

Web Development Blog Review: JonLee.ca

As I try to get my ability to review a blog down to a "T", I came across another blog that I am going to review. This web development blog will give me a link (PR4 blog) and I could possibly be the Featured Blog on his blog.

While reading the first post on his blog I find myself wondering why I never thought of remapping the caps lock key. You know what I mean? The key is never used. Once you get rolling on the keyboard it is much easier to hold the shift key or just click it if you need it. The blog features many helpful posts like this one. Categories include, Offtopic, reviews and my favorite, web development.

The design of the blog is nice and neat. I like to read blogs so I am a stickler for design that's easy on the eyes. This one is setup nicely and the information flows like melted butter. Looking at another post, I see this cool thing called a link train. Check it out to see if it's something you'd like to do.

265 feed readers and a $60 price tag on reviews, jonlee.ca is well known by those who read about web development, among other things.

Review: Blogaboutyourblog.com

Recently I had a movie quote contest and picked a random comment owner as "winner" and offered a free 100 word review on the website/blog of their choice. The winner this week is http://www.blogaboutyourblog.com/.

While visiting blogaboutyourblog I notice right away the catchy and impressive logo. The layout of the whole blog is attractive and neatly displayed for the readers. I then continued to read most of the posts on the front page and noticed the writing style is much like my own, straight forward and to the point. Blogaboutyourblog is updated almost everyday with interesting and uplifting posts about, well, blogging for one. Making money online is another category and one that stands out in my eyes, how to increase your website traffic. Blogaboutyourblog.com also has a feature called "Comment Friday". Questions are asked and people comment on the post. The idea is to get people coming back to the blog, which I can see myself, that isn't a problem. Comment Friday looks to stir up good conversation and user interactiveness. Check it out this week.

With over 225 feed readers and a blog page rank of 4, this blog is certainly popular with other bloggers and has information that any website owner could use on a daily basis.

Britney Spears: What's up With That?

Has the whole world gone crazy? I am the only one around here who gives a shit about the rules? Every morning I wake up and by the time I get to the frontpage of MSN.com, there is already a crap load of trashy news in the entertainment industry that wasn't there the morning before.

Today I read about Britney's OK photoshoot that went nuts and how she walked away with thousands of dollars of clothes and jewelry. Why is she still in the spotlight? I wonder how long it will be before we read about her being found face first in a pile of cocaine and red bull cans all over the room.

She has lost it. There is not a doubt in my mind that she has gone off the deep end and all I can think about is "What about the children?" Who takes care of these poor things when mommy is out all night sucky red bull and smoking like a chimney?

Just another example as to why "kids" cannot have children. They will grow up never knowing their mother, or father for that matter, and most likely be as messed up as the parents are. Too bad, for us that is.

Former coach of the San Francisco 49ers has past away at the young age of 75. One of the few coaches that I remember throughout my football memories. Our thoughts a prayers go out to his family. The legacy he left in football will never be forgotten.

Movie Quote Contest: Week 6

Ok, so this week I am going to pick a number and that number comment will be getting a review (with one link) to the blog of their choice IF they answer correctly. That's the only hint you get :) So, the best thing for you to do is leave a comment and hope your comment is the right number with the right answer.

**NOTE: comment even if you think the answer is already given, it may be wrong, but if it's not you might be the number comment I pick!**

Here is this weeks movie quote:

Guy one: You're a dick.
Guy two: Okay.

Go ahead, you have until Monday AM to answer. Good Luck.

While looking up US history, I came across a website of a city where the Mayflower first landed, or docked, or whatever. The website has plenty of information for anyone interested in Provincetown.

Labeled on of the Top 10 places to watch whales and has the country's longest running art colony established in 1899. Provincetown has some of the best beaches on the east coast as well.

Even though everyone is always welcome in Provincetown, it has been labeled a best vacation destination for gays in the US. Visit the website today for more information on events, great deals, dining specials, accommodations, etc.

Most Haunted is getting freaky'r by the week

You should know by now that I have a curious love for information regarding paranormal. Ghost Hunters, Destination Truth, A Haunting and, of course, Most Haunted are just a few of the shows that I throw up on the DVR on a weekly basis.

This week (last Friday night) Most Haunted was particularly freaky. They were in this huge castle type "home" on some land that has a history dating back over 4,000 years. Sure to find some things that go bump in the night.

During their normal walk thru there was regular banging and creaking, but one thing that bothered me during the main investigation was the wind outside was recorded at over 30 MPH. This may have had a lot to do with this huge castle structure, but it didn't seem they wanted to blame that for any of the sounds they heard.

If you have seen the show you know that that main lady is always freaking out about every single sound she hears or shadow that passes by her. Well, this one wasn't any different :( Same, same with the host lady. They did get some interesting moaning and screaming, but nothing more than the usual...and of course the psychics were able to pick up on some of the doom throughout the history of the place, which is always interesting.

Anyone else read this story? I saw it on MSNBC.com today and just thought it was quite interesting. Is this considered a "copy cat crime"? They compare it to The Italian Job or Ocean's Eleven in the article.

It's really amazing to be able to see someone steal jewelry or books that total that amount. Of course is was in the richest part of Los Angeles. Read more if you are interested...

Results Not Typical

I think I am going to rename my blog to "Results Not Typical". I got this idea while watching TV recently. Usually I don't see any commercials, since I got my fancy DVR unit, but the ones that I have had to watch are ridiculous. Diet, weight loss pills, gym equipment, depression drugs are all the same commercial with the same disclaimer, "results not typical".

How can you sell any product with a disclaimer like that? I understand that with any product, how the person uses it may affect how it performs, BUT you must really just not be too sure if you have people on TV selling your product that claim to use it, then tell people that those "results are not typical". How sad is that?

101 Ways To Trim Your Budget

Ever feel like you are overwhelmed with bills, credit card payments or personal loan payments? Have you thought about ways to get yourself out of debt faster?

Most of us just need to "trim the fat" from our budgets. What I mean by that is take the unnecessary items that we pay for and put that money towards bills and debt. Once you learn how to Trim your budget, monthly bills and savings become common place in your home.

I am in a similar situation and one might ask themselves if I need or want something when I spend money. Most of the time you get into a situation like this from spending recklessly or impulsively. When you are at a store, do you buy something just because it is on sale? Do you go shopping for food when you are hungry? These types of spending habits will get you into the poor house quickly.

Now, if you are one of the few that have so much money you don't know what to do with, you should also learn to Trim your budget and save when you can. You hear stories all the time of people that spent life savings and now have nothing. Or even millionaire lottery winners that are declared bankrupt because of poor spending habits.

Learn from your mistakes, but do it quickly and hopefully you can live your life the way you want and not the way the bank tells you to.

Jon Lovitz Kills Andy Dick, oh wait, I am Dreaming Again!

I am sure that all of you have seen or heard about Jon Lovitz laying the smack down on Andy Dick recently at the Laugh Factory. Well, if you didn't, here is my take on it.

This goes way back when Jon accused Dick of giving Phil Hartman's wife cocaine after she had been sober for nearly 10 years. 5 months later, Phil was dead. Jon did not let that part of this life go anytime soon.

At a recent stand-up event in LA at the Laugh Factory. A drunk Andy Dick told Lovitz that he had put the "Phil Hartman Hex" on him as well. When asked what he meant, Andy said that he only mentioned that because Lovitz said Andy killed Phil, which he never actually said.

Shortly after that, Andy asked Jon to be in his next movie. The next thing Andy knew, was he was being tossed about before security guards put a stop to it. Nice, Andy Dick is funny sometimes, but crossing the line is not funny most of the time.

Ted Haggard, Reverend, Gay, Liar

Doesn't that bother you a little bit?

The disgraced former president of the National Evangelical Association, which represents 30 million evangelical Christians, apologized and said “because of pride, I began deceiving those I love the most because I didn’t want to hurt or disappoint them.”

I cannot figure out how the heck this could happen. I believe in God and creation and all that jazz, but that is about as far as it goes. What is this guy thinking? Was he always gay? Against gay marriage?

I just first heard about this story this past week when I caught an episode of the Dr. Keith Ablow show. It was a clip show recapping the top stories of the past year. One this particular episode the man that "outted" Ted was on the show with reasons why he did it. He felt it was the right thing to do. Was it to extort Ted? I don't think so, I just think that this other man was so thrown that Ted was paying him for sex and using drugs one day, then back up on stage the next day preaching about being against gay marriage.

I am not sure what to think, but this guy is definitely a liar and deceiver. Some people believe so deeply about things like this a follow people, trust people in this position then BAM! This ruined a lot of lives I am sure. What a disgrace.

Worlds Tallest Man Meets Worlds Shortest

Imagine being taller than 7 feet! Now, imagine being only 29 inches tall. Now, imagine seeing these two people meet. It's real, there is such a thing and it happened this week. When I read the story about how the two meet, I couldn't stop thinking about what each of them was thinking when they saw the other.

Shortest man: "Maybe he can get me some cookies
from the jar atop the fridge?!"

Tallest man: "Now he is exactly what I need to
tie my shoes, my back is killing me!"

Ok, ok. I know it's cruel. What would you think they were thinking when they met? Leave your answer in the comments section.

Finances: Auto Loans

I currently own the vehicle that I am driving now. I paid cash for it about 2 years ago when I got some extra money from a website that I run in my spare time. Before that I had 3 auto loans in my day. I hated paying for any type of loan, but that was the situation I was in at the time.

I am certainly grateful that my financial situation has changed for the better over the last 5 years or more, but I wouldn't have been able to learn what I know without my first auto loans. Having a loan to pay teaches a person responsibile money management and that is never a bad thing. Just stick to your guns and pay your loans on time, everything will be just fine in the long run.

Godaddy Has Domain Names, You Know?

I like Godaddy.com. They have an exceptionally well designed website. When you have a domain or two with them, the services they offer are second to none. I think at this time I have about 10 domains there and looking to transfer at least 5 more from other places.

I don't have any hosting through them though. I am not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing. They are cheap, don't get me wrong, I just like the aspect of having a full service back end, so when I find one I stick with it for as long as I can.

Right now I have a couple of sites hosted by Dot5hosting.com. They are reasonably priced with a typical php back end. You can host up to 6 names on one hosting account. That works well with me and all my other blog type projects. Cheap hosting at like 72 bucks a year, now add 5 other domains and you have cheap hosting for 6 sites. They do have a file cap of 50,000 which I found out the other day for the first time. Not a big deal, I just have to learn to weed out the files I no longer need right away.

Anyways, if you are looking for a domain or hosting, check out Godaddy.com and Dot5hosting.com for more information.

Just a quick plug.

Bud Selig says "Forget You Barry Bonds"

Just kidding. When asked about attending the record-breaking event sometime soon, Bud replied,

"It will have to be played by ear, I do have a day job."
Yup, sounds like snub to me. At least if I was Bud Selig I would certainly snub him. What right does Barry Bonds have to celebrate if he breaks the record? Big deal, Barry, you cheated and won. How does that really make you the winner?

I liked Barry Bonds back in the day, I followed everything he did. I even had him on my fantasy roster when I was a little kid playing baseball in the backyard, but with all the events leading up to this "record breaker", I am disgusted that he will even be honored. Whatever, baseball is boring anyways, unless there is a bench clearing brawl :)

Kill Babies in Iraq? What the heck is this about?

Take a look at this picture, what do you make of it? It's from a local newspaper article about a double amputee from IRAQ that is fighting to walk again.

That was nice story, but then I looked at the photo again and noticed the words "Kill Babies" in large bold print on the American flag. WTF is that about? I cannot, and usually don't, jump to conclusions, but the flag looks like a going away (or coming home) present signed by friends or fellow soldiers.

I would have to assume, based solely on the words used, that whomever signed that name with those words, meant to kill babies over in IRAQ, right? I thought long about putting this picture up, because I tried to find another reason or meaning behind what that person wrote, before posting and making a big deal out of it. I cannot come up with any good situation based on what is written there. (if you can't see it, it's in the upper left center of the picture written in a white striped area)

I have finally decided to post it and get other opinions on whether it's a good thing or exactly what I think it is. If it's what I think it is, it certainly is NOT good. War is bad enough a thing to worry about when you are over there, or know someone that was deployed, without having to add issues like this into the mix. There are many things going on there that none of us know about I am sure, but I would HATE to think that our soldiers are sent over there with a message like that in the back of their minds.

War is different from back in the day, everyone has heard horror stories about bombs strapped to children and whatnot, but I really did not like to see that written (on the flag no less) as a message to this man going to IRAQ. Is that really what people over here are thinking about when they see a friend getting deployed? Would that be the message you want to send with him?

Or maybe it's not even his flag, does that matter? I would think not, because the note is still there regardless of who owns the flag. I am just trying to figure out the reason, other than bad ones or poor judgement on the writers part, to make this sit well with me. I doubt I will, but hoped I could count on a reader or two to shed some other ideas or thoughts on the photo.

Paranormal is My Friend, But Don't Tell Them That!

Have you ever had a paranormal experience? I don't mean just ghosts, anything out of the "norm" is paranormal.

Well, my fiance has been one to notice a lot more things then myself as far as that goes. In our house she has seen flashing lights, shadowy figures and heard several noises. I like to watch shows like Ghosthunters, Destination Truth, Most Haunted and the like. I have no problem being a believer, so to speak, but I want to see honest to God proof. In each of the shows listed above, I have seen what I call decent proof. Anywhere from EVP's (Electronic Voice Phenomena), to actual experiences caught on tape.

It keeps my interest to see actual proof on the TV, but it would do a lot more for me if I saw it in person or experienced something first hand.

Rene: What are you doing? You promised me breakfast.
Brodie: Breakfast, shmreakfast. Look at the score, for Christ's sake. It's only the second period and I'm up 12 to 2. Breakfasts come and go, Rene, but Hartford, "the Whale," they only beat Vancouver once, maybe twice in a lifetime.

Fireworks are fun on July 4th

Well, this year we watched the fireworks while ON Lake Michigan in a boat. You really can't beat that view, even if the coast guard gets on your case for being to close. After moving about 1,000 feet exactly from the launch site, there we floated (?) throughout the fireworks show. I have a couple of pictures that may have turned out ok, I will post them later.

Hans Gruber: You an American?
John McClane: Only if New Jersey counts.
