The Jena 6 - What if they were all White?

I can't help myself with this one. What if all the boys were white? All of them, all 6 where white. It can happen, right? Kids hate other kids and they get a crazy idea from the "great idea maker" in the group and then one kid is in the hospital, while the others try and stay out of prison. Would we be getting this kid of news at the top of every hour? Maybe for the first day, but not like we are getting right now.

It's ridiculous to compare the two, but you just have to ask yourself, what the hell?

City Wide Wi-Fi Would be Nice

Does anyone reading this blog, if there is anyone at all left, have city-wide wi-fi in your area? It should would be a nice thing for a blogger or online business owner, don't you think? Well, I think it would. I own and operate many domain names and think that if I had city-wide wi-fi I would be able to get a lot more done while I am waiting at places throughout the day.

Just a thought, of hint, hint, if anyone cares.

Do You Yahoo? MSN? or Google?

My homepage is http://www.msn.com/. I like the layout of news, sports and weather. I never go to Yahoo's frontpage, but it seems to be quite popular to others that I have talked to. Google is my favorite search, but the homepage takes too long to customize the way I want it.

So, there you go, what is your opinion on these 3?

Virgo's Excel at Sex, Love and Money - Hmmm?

I read an article called "Fun Facts About Virgo". The link on MSN.com said "Why Virgo's excel in sex, love and money", so naturally it intrigued me. When I clicked the link I was sent to the astrology center at msn.com.

Some fun facts include:

A Virgo is a helpful friend to have indeed. They are excellent at giving advice,
and they really know how to problem solve. You'll find that a Virgo will remind
you to take good care of yourself, as health is a focal point for them.

Oh yeah and you can't forget about the "Love & Sex" part.
Love and Sex
It's important for the Virgo lover to feel needed by their mates. Outside of the bedroom is where the majority of foreplay is going to happen for this sign. Tactile, methodical and willing to take as long as is needed, they make excellent lovers. Even though the Virgo won't express many words of love, they will show their affections in the bedroom. Virgos prefer to have a few strong connections rather than many partners. Life partners are chosen based on how important and needed the Virgo feels they are in their lives. They are dedicated spouses that love to live on the wild side once and a while.

Nice little article I guess, even if I don't believe in the stuff 100%, it's fun to read.

Shop for Domains at Godaddy.com

I have a bunch of domain names, including http://www.flixguide.com/, http://www.jwselectronics.com/, http://www.runjumpfetch.com/, and http://www.sukosaki.info/ just to name a few.

I prefer Godaddy.com to purchase my domain names. The support is excellent, the prices are good and if you are looking for add-ons, look no further, they offer a crap load of them. They are reasonably priced as well. I have seen and tried other companies to register my names at, but when I decided to take it to the next level and get a bunch of names, I chose to stick with Godaddy.com.

Personal Loans through Prosper.com

Bid on my listing at Prosper, people-to-people lending

Ever run into a situation where you were hard up for cash and your friends would loan it to you, but with interest? There is always a legality thing keeping you from doing it? Well, I found a website, http://www.prosper.com/, that allows people to loan their money out to other people who need some help, with interest!

The website is set up similar to ebay. People login and post the amount of $$$ and what it's for. Then people can read their listing, credit information included, and decide if they are worth the risk of investing their own personal money to them. They have over 350,000 members and $70 million in loans already funded through the site.

To sign up is free and if you want to loan to others, you just have to verify bank information and make an initial deposit to your account ($50 min). Then, let the searching begin. You look for a listing that suits you and bid on it. The minimum bid is $50 and max interest rate is based on the state you live in. But that's where the eBay like feature comes in. If you bid $50 at 29.88% interest, but someone bid $50 at 23.88%, at the end they would get funded. The auction style is helping the borrower get a better interest rate at the same time, people funding more can live with a lower rate, so their money will get funded before yours.

All loans are 3 years max at $25,000 the max amount. Payments are made via checking account on the 1st of every month. It's really a sweet deal, check it out and if you'd like, bid on my listing.

Man Is It HOT Outside!

Ever get "that" guy around you that just has to mention to everyone he sees that day just how HOT it is outside? Well, if there are any around, this time of the year they are annoying people all over the place.

The heat index, at least where I am at, is over 100 now for like a week and a half. I shouldn't complain because it has been worse, but man is it hot outside!

$7 million in loot stolen from L.A. big shots

Anyone else read this story? I saw it on MSNBC.com today and just thought it was quite interesting. Is this considered a "copy cat crime"? They compare it to The Italian Job or Ocean's Eleven in the article.

It's really amazing to be able to see someone steal jewelry or books that total that amount. Of course is was in the richest part of Los Angeles. Read more if you are interested...

Results Not Typical

I think I am going to rename my blog to "Results Not Typical". I got this idea while watching TV recently. Usually I don't see any commercials, since I got my fancy DVR unit, but the ones that I have had to watch are ridiculous. Diet, weight loss pills, gym equipment, depression drugs are all the same commercial with the same disclaimer, "results not typical".

How can you sell any product with a disclaimer like that? I understand that with any product, how the person uses it may affect how it performs, BUT you must really just not be too sure if you have people on TV selling your product that claim to use it, then tell people that those "results are not typical". How sad is that?

Jon Lovitz Kills Andy Dick, oh wait, I am Dreaming Again!

I am sure that all of you have seen or heard about Jon Lovitz laying the smack down on Andy Dick recently at the Laugh Factory. Well, if you didn't, here is my take on it.

This goes way back when Jon accused Dick of giving Phil Hartman's wife cocaine after she had been sober for nearly 10 years. 5 months later, Phil was dead. Jon did not let that part of this life go anytime soon.

At a recent stand-up event in LA at the Laugh Factory. A drunk Andy Dick told Lovitz that he had put the "Phil Hartman Hex" on him as well. When asked what he meant, Andy said that he only mentioned that because Lovitz said Andy killed Phil, which he never actually said.

Shortly after that, Andy asked Jon to be in his next movie. The next thing Andy knew, was he was being tossed about before security guards put a stop to it. Nice, Andy Dick is funny sometimes, but crossing the line is not funny most of the time.

Worlds Tallest Man Meets Worlds Shortest

Imagine being taller than 7 feet! Now, imagine being only 29 inches tall. Now, imagine seeing these two people meet. It's real, there is such a thing and it happened this week. When I read the story about how the two meet, I couldn't stop thinking about what each of them was thinking when they saw the other.

Shortest man: "Maybe he can get me some cookies
from the jar atop the fridge?!"

Tallest man: "Now he is exactly what I need to
tie my shoes, my back is killing me!"

Ok, ok. I know it's cruel. What would you think they were thinking when they met? Leave your answer in the comments section.

Godaddy Has Domain Names, You Know?

I like Godaddy.com. They have an exceptionally well designed website. When you have a domain or two with them, the services they offer are second to none. I think at this time I have about 10 domains there and looking to transfer at least 5 more from other places.

I don't have any hosting through them though. I am not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing. They are cheap, don't get me wrong, I just like the aspect of having a full service back end, so when I find one I stick with it for as long as I can.

Right now I have a couple of sites hosted by Dot5hosting.com. They are reasonably priced with a typical php back end. You can host up to 6 names on one hosting account. That works well with me and all my other blog type projects. Cheap hosting at like 72 bucks a year, now add 5 other domains and you have cheap hosting for 6 sites. They do have a file cap of 50,000 which I found out the other day for the first time. Not a big deal, I just have to learn to weed out the files I no longer need right away.

Anyways, if you are looking for a domain or hosting, check out Godaddy.com and Dot5hosting.com for more information.

Just a quick plug.

Customer Service Mishap or Nightmare?

Awhile back I posted about customer service, wondering is the customer ALWAYS right?

I have been in the middle of a customer service call to India, no doubt, and thought to myself, "am I the idiot?" I would like you to post in the comments section if you have been through a customer service situation that has left you steaming. Post the company it was with and a short summary of what happened. I would like to see that I am not the only one that this is happening to.

Fireworks are fun on July 4th

Well, this year we watched the fireworks while ON Lake Michigan in a boat. You really can't beat that view, even if the coast guard gets on your case for being to close. After moving about 1,000 feet exactly from the launch site, there we floated (?) throughout the fireworks show. I have a couple of pictures that may have turned out ok, I will post them later.

Happy 4th of July!

Sponsor A Post On HiTechBlogger.com

I am going to try a new thing soon. It will be allowing users to "sponsor" a post on my HiTech Blog. The post will stay on the front page for 15 days and when the post is off the page, the sponsorship will stay.

I am just making everyone aware, I haven't been accepting any ads yet. I want to see if there is any interest before I go to far and commit to something that might not be worth it for me or the advertiser.

Stay tuned, or if you'd like a spot already, you can email me for more information.

Bite Me Link Exchange is All Good!

Today I would like to write a post about a new blog link exchange that I am in. It's put on by VenomousKate over at http://www.electricvenom.com/. Every Tuesday and Friday the linky dinky is on.

Her blog is easy on the eyes and a thrill to read. She holds a Caption Contest on Mondays and of course this link exchange on Tuesday's and Friday's. Check out the blog, just another fine reading session I've found since I joined payperpost.com.

Wait, One Last Post! It's About Paris

She is out of jail, finally! Whew, believe it or not, she made it and now we can all get back to our normal boring lives. Don't forget about the $1 million she is charging for an interview, or the half way home she wants to start to help all the tarts she did her "hard time" with.

What a joke? How long before we can stop hearing about this chick?

TV Show: Destination Truth

Destination Truth is another tv show to go along with my paranormal fetish.

This show is decent so far (3 shows). A sceptic running the show is exactly what I have been waiting for. I don't like to see people on the show jumping and screaming at every little noise they hear. This guy wants to see proof and will debunk it to your face if it's bull.
You can catch it on Sci-Fi of course Wednesday nights. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Pee on a Jellyfish Sting?

Can you pee on a jelly fish sting to make it hurt less?

Apparently you can, but it will only help for about 3 minutes or so.

Did you also know that if you take all RIGHT turns you can outrun a black bear? LOL, I know it sounds ridiculous, but wouldn't you try anything you could to get away from a bear!?
