Ads on This Blog

I am sitting here this afternoon trying to decide if I should just drop the auctionads.com ads AND the YPN ads from my blog. I am interested in blogging and wouldn't mind to make a little extra money from it, but I am just not sure if it makes my blog appear "hokey" if you will. I want my readers to be able to feel like coming back for more reading and enjoy their stay without ads popping up all over the place at them. I don't feel like the auctionads.com ads are in the way, I actually think it's a great idea for bloggers. You just never know when people are going to see something they want, especially hard to find items on eBay!

I do have some posts on here from payperpost.com, and that is the way I plan to make most of the money on this blog. I have to try and find a topic or niche to place this blog around and hopefully the reader loyalty will start to mount. Comment if you have any suggestions.

Saw III at Movies.Yahoo.com

Have you seen Saw III yet? Well I have had this movie from netflix sitting on my coffee table for almost 2.5 months now. What's taking so long? I am not sure. Everytime we sit down to watch it, we find another reason to watch it later. The most recent was that we wanted to watch it on the big screen. Which is of course, the home theater type setup I have in our basement. It's pretty basic with nothing fancy at all. I bought a Dell 2400MP Multimedia Projector from the Dell website. About $1250 delivered to my door. My screen is a piece of laminated plywood that I painted FLAT white with a simple black border around the whole thing. I have a basic Kenwood surround system to go with it. When the lights are out, the projector on and the stereo cranked, it really makes for a different movie type experience. So, next time I try to watch the movie it will be on the big screen, hopefully sooner than later!

Neopets is For Everyone

Have you ever played on Neopets.com? You get a little cute animal and you have to feed him, give him toys and a house to live in. You have to play games for neopoints that you can use to spend on things or you can put it into the bank to save it for a rainy day. Give it a go, it's all free and can be quite addicting.

Have you seen this movie?

School for Scoundrels is great! Jon Heder (left) is such a nice guy and plays the part of a Star Wars Geek lost in his own world, perfectly. Billy Bob Thorton is also in rare form as a teacher for guys that are weak and quite, normally. Within the first 10 minutes of this movie you are loving Billy Bob's character.

With a class of about 20 students, this top secret, get ahead course has come twists and turns and not to mention a very familiar bunch of comedians in the class.

Sit back and enjoy the rips, tears, punches and paintballs to the private areas. You'll laugh for sure, even if it's only at the end :)

Sheboygan's Finest

What a surprise :) Two female twin sisters are caught, by Walgreens photo lab, taking partially nude pictures, with a 5 year old in some of them. This really isn't a surprise when you think about all the fun things there is to read in the local newspaper from that area. Take a look at the story and go ahead and read through some of the posts from the newspapers forum as well. So proud I'm sure the city is. And if I am not mistaken, about 10 years ago, that city was voted by readers digest as the #1 place to raise a child...might have to run that survey again :)

What a nice quote

"With all of the fires, tornadoes, floods, hurricanes and storms ripping across this country today, do you think it's a good time to take God out of the constitution?"

Wrong Place at the Wrong Time

Have you ever been in the wrong place at the wrong time? I just read a story in our regional newspaper about a van that was carrying 6 adults to Florida for Spring Break. While traveling down the highway, a tire from a truck going the opposite direction crashed into the vans roof. The impact of the tire killed one passenger and wounded the others in various ways.

It makes me think about the things I do everyday and wonder if by doing my normal routine I will be in the wrong place at the wrong time?

If you are calling about your bill say "yes"...

Anyone else hate these voice activated systems you get when you call up any type of customer service number? You call any customer service number and you get a voice asking you questions that you can only answer by saying words. "Are you calling about your bill?" "Yes" ..... "I'm sorry, I didn't understand that, please answer again" .. "Yes" ..... "I'm sorry I didnt' understand that, please answer again" .. "F*ck you" ..... "Ok, you are calling about your bill"

What the hell is that all about? How retarded, but if you are loving them up just as I am, go ahead and check out the group at myspace.com, I am thinking of joining myself.

A nice FREE online Magazine

I have an issue with finding ways to become more thrifty or self-reliant, so I am always searching the internet for websites with the best content. I came across BackWoods Home Magazine in a random search for starting an online flower business. I read through a couple of the articles and they seem to be well written and to the point. Most completely instructional and some with pictures. Take a look and see what they have in the FREE article section you might be interested in, otherwise you can get a subscription.

Ahhhhh, daylight saving time

I went to bed lastnight feeling real good about seeing the sun longer. Then I had to wake up this morning to go to work (about 6AM CST) and I had to see that it was still dark outside. It kind of put a damper on the whole situation I was enjoying the day before. I know that in time it will be light out again when I get up for work, it was just the initial sadness to see it dark again.
Winters are so unpredictable in the Midwest and can be way too long, that it is so nice to get away from it as soon as you can. I am sure anyone living in this area can say the same thing. Now I get to look forward to planting flowers and working in the yard. I may post some pictures of my projects even now and again so stay tuned.

Science of Sleep

Have you been able to check this movie out? The title is "The Science of Sleep" and I am not sure what is really going on, but there are some serious undertones in the movie. I think the reviews and comments made here are very close to the way I felt when the movie was over. It's a fun movie to watch, but I think I will have to see it again to be able to catch every little thing that is happening or what they mean. The main character is artistic and stuck in a job he doesn't want. When he sleeps, his dreams come alive and are a large part of the movie. If you want to watch a movie that keeps your mind thinking and has come very funny parts, then I recommend this one for sure!

Storm Picture from July 2006

This is just one of the many pictures I got from a lightening storm that rolled through our area in mid-summer 2006. The picture is taken in my backyard facing south. I used a Kodak digital camera with 8 second shutter delay. No rain that night, just this.

Sue a doctor, BUT not your mechanic?

A co-worker and I were talking about medical insurance the other day and he made a very good point in my opinion.
People who want to sue a doctor for WORKING ON A HUMAN body and possibly misdiagnosing something should be thinking about how many times their mechanic misdiagnosed problems with their automobile.
I never thought about it that way before. A human body is so complex from one to the next, yet many automobiles are the same in many ways. Wouldn't it make sense that a doctor could possibly misdiagnose while working on something as complex as the human body.
With the education doctors have, compared to the education of a mechanic, you'd think you should be able to sue your mechanic (since autos are less complex) when you have to return there for multiple parts or repairs that don't seem to fix the problem you went in there with.
Doctors go through more schooling and constant training, yet they are targeted right away when there is an issue with their performance. This is disregarding any malicious intent by the doctor of (which may be more likely in a shifty mechanic) course.
What do you think?

Do you YouTube?

YouTube brings MILLIONS of people together in an all out "let's post whatever we can about whatever we want" free-for-all in the largest compilation of videos on the web. If you have never been to YouTube.com, I recommend it for a laugh a day, but also recommend you free up about 4-5 hours to browse the site. YouTube's extreme addictive navigation system will keep you on the site looking for more. With many bragging rights INCLUDING having MORE pageviews per month than MTV viewers, this site, just acquired by Google.com, is going places and making stars of many people every month.

Do you use Epinions.com?

For about 4 months now I have been posting reviews on epinions.com. Do you use comparison shopping search engines when you shop online? Are the users reviews helpful to you when you compare? I like to provide a small service in my opinion on certain products I have used either at home or in the office. Epinions.com is the perfect outlet for this hobby of mine and it has become quite addicting I might add. Check it out if you have even seen the site or are interested in writing your own reviews. They compansate you for your time with income sharing, don't worry, there is no referral system in place. This post is only a shameless plug for my profile of reviews :)
