If you are a regular ready here (I know there are a couple), then you might have noticed that I don't post here that much. Well, the main reason is the recent success of my other blog, www.sukosaki.info.
I have been posting over there like a mad man and to say the least, I have been thinking about ditching this blog. The reason that I haven't? Well, it's in the Payperpost system and DID have a nice PR. So, I am waiting for their new system called SocialSpark to go live and see what that all has to offer. If at that point it isn't something that I want to get into, I will dump this blog and concentrate on Sukosaki.info 100%.
For those of you that have been reading and commenting, thanks, but hang in there with me, you just never know what will happen in the near future.

Weather in the Midwest IS a Mystery!

Britney Spears: What's up With That? Part II

I am sure that you all read the story this morning about Britney Spears being taken to a hospital after a 3 hour standoff at her home. The standoff was caused by Britney not wanting K-fed to take their 2 young sons, as was planned.

You can see multiple photos online I am sure and one officer at the scene stated that Britney appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance. We all know what that means, right?

Well, if you don't, it just means that she is still on the long train wreck scene in a movie that will not end soon enough!

Fantasy Football is Over

Well, I tried a new tactic for the last 2 weeks of the season, but to no avail. I finished in 3 place (1 place from payout), but still feel like I did a pretty good job. I did win 2 weeks, so I got my entry money back. That is all I ask usually.

The last 3-4 weeks were terrible with point spreads and weather being the 2 main factors I couldn't get a pick right if I tried. Better luck next year, thanks for following along.

Fantasy Football Update

Johnny Depp is Sweeney Todd

I really like Johnny Depp, especially in Blow and Secret Window. Johnny Depp in Blow was just fantastic. Playing George Jung, the real first drug lord in the US, was done perfectly and I really like the scenes where he thinks he is invincible basically.

Secret Window was a great thriller type movie and I really can't remember what exact scene I liked, but I do remember thinking that I liked the movie and how well it was filmed. He has been in so many films it's hardly even funny. The guy was just amazing in the Pirates trilogy. He plays that character so well.

That brings me to his newest film, Sweeney Todd. You can visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site here. Or even visit Sweeney Todd on myspace. I have seen the trailer and think it will be as quirky as some of the other films that he has done. This movie has certainly peaked my interest thus far. I am not sure how original the story is, but I must say that the trailer makes this one out to be quite different from other movies.

I think in today's age of movies, you have to put yourself out there and make bold moves with your production to stand out above the rest.

I am sure by now you have read or seen the footage of Jennifer Love Hewitt. Well, did you get a look at the post on TMZ.com? I think they are pathetic for making sarcastic remarks about her like they did. It's bad enough that this country, yes country, is going to hell in a hand basket, but now we have to deal with people like this. There is enough depression, anxiety and lack of self-confidence to go around the way it is. Why do people like the ones posting at TMZ.com feel like they have to add to it? Can we see pictures of all the folks at TMZ.com so that we can polk fun at what we think isn't perfect about them? Oh wait, WE wouldn't do that.

I just read another post, here, about this topic and think that blogger has valid points. I hate the paparazzi anyways, but this really sucks to see them doing this to people. How IS perfect? WHAT is perfect? And who the hell decided they could be the judge of what is or isn't perfect?

It floors me that celebs and Hollywood, in general, make these types of things "news" and rub it into the faces of people across the globe. TMZ.com isn't the only one to blame here, I think we are pathetic as a whole in the USA.

Fantasy Football Update

What a butt-kicking did I get this week. First off, went against Packers +10, bad move. The other thing that I did was keep some "just in case" picks. Those are picks where I will take a likely underdog, in hopes the other pickers will take the favorite, but the favorite will not win. That puts me ahead of the pack almost 100% of the time. This week, it didn't work one bit.

So, going into the Indianapolis game as we speak, I have 8-16 picked correctly. That puts me in 10th so far this week. Pretty sad shape, but there are a bunch of 10's and a 12 picker, so I was up against some winners for sure.

Fantasy Football Update

Well, this week seemed to go a little better for me regarding the spread. I did make one side bet on the Thursday Night Green Bay Packer game that netted me $45, so that is always nice. Right now I have 8 games picked right out of 16, going into tonight's New England game against the Ravens. I did pick the Patriots +20.5 points, so I am hoping that the Ravens can keep losing badly for at least one more game. That will put me in a tie with first for the week. Overall, I have moved into first with 4-5 games to go.

Is the Weather Going to Rock the Midwest?

Looking through Google Trends this morning I was surprised to see that one of the top 20 searches was for road conditions in Nebraska. I was reading the weather for today in yesterdays paper, so I am aware of what we are supposed to be getting hit with. I just didn't think that many people went to Google to check for road conditions. Don't you see this as strange? Here is a radar snapshot at for the Midwest for today, time reads 10:19 am EST.
Looks like we could be in for some sort of mess. Snow, rain, sleet, ice, rain and more snow. Plus the temps are going to go from 20's to 0 and back to 20's be this time tomorrow. I think this one is gonna hurt a little. Stay tuned, as long as the power is on, I will be blogging about it :)

His new movie, named Sweeny Todd, fits right in with all the other "outside the norm" movies that he is a part of. Ok Fantasy Football Again

What is Up with Football?

Did you see some of the spreads from this past week in football? NONE of the big teams covered and what the hell is this 22 points (on Yahoo) given to New England and they win by 3!? I wasn't even watching the game, because, like everyone else, figured them a major favorite. Another game that got me by surprise was the Pittsburgh/Miami game. 3-0! Wow! I think the full moon played a HUGE roll in what happened in football week 12.

Needless to say, I still picked 8 tough ones out of 16 games. I am still in second place in my pool, but if the weeks are going to be rough like this, I am not sure I will be able to get anywhere.

New England Favored by 22!

Can you believe this? New England is favored by 22 points over the Eagles this week. I have had a hard enough time trying to pick against the spread this year, I HATE games with spread this high. ONE injury on New England and they won't cover, it's nuts. But of course I will have to pick them, because all my other "just in case" picks will be taken. My "just in case" picks are those that I try to pick the underdog that MIGHT win, because everyone else will for sure pick the favorite. That puts my high in the standings at the end of the weekend. :)

Freeze It Gel Contest Entry

I did a post about FreezeIt Gel a little while back and now they are asking for a contest entries. This post will be my entry and tell a short tale about how FreezeIt Gel would be perfect prize to win. Attached is a caricature of my fiance :) Read on.

It all started about 2 years ago, my fiance was attending a college of cosmetology in a nearby city. Everything was going great, she liked coloring hair, applying makeup and doing nails of customers she saw everyday. This was an accelerated college, which means the staff would try and cram "4 years of college" into 2 years. My fiance was there at least 5 days a week, if not 6 to keep up and stay ahead of the game. Things were quite stressful and then it happened. One snowy winter day, she was walking down into the basement of the old school house turned college. While navigating around some boxes on the steps, she slipped and fell to the bottom of the steps. Her right leg practically bent all the way above her shoulder. Picture doing the splits down a flight of 10 steps. She was with someone, thank God, and they made sure she was ok.

She was so nervous on this day to begin with because she had just had her own hair cut and was worried about my reaction (which was not a bad reaction I might add). To top it off, she falls down the steps. At this time I was working night shift and was awakening by my fiance sitting on the bed crying. I asked what was wrong and the tears started to flow. What she hoped would be a normal day with a surprise for me (her new hair cut), turned into one of pain and embarrassment. She told me the whole story and I couldn't believe she didn't break any bone or tear anything in her legs.

She did say that her back was bothering her, but was told to sign a slip of paper regarding the school's responsibility in the accident (bad move, but she was a wreck already). They claimed that she wasn't wearing the proper shoes, which I immediately disagreed with. She was wearing Sketchers with a decent sole that would help her in the snow. Anyway, we did end up going to the doctor. She was admitted quickly at our local walk-in clinic and sent out just as fast. When I asked her how it went, she told me the doctor made her try and touch her toes, which she could normally, and she was unable to do so. In a round about way the doctor said she wasn't trying and shouldn't be lazy about it. Mind you, she is in pain now. The doctor did NOTHING for her.

Over the next year or so, her back doesn't seem to hurt as bad, but every once in a while, she will get a sharp pain shoot through her back. Obviously, the pain is still there to some extent.

With all of that said, I would like to mention that I was part of the Freeze It Gel product sampling. Let me tell you first hand, that stuff works! How did this juicy little piece of "post of the day" material get passed me? I just saw on MSN front page that Puff Daddy, or P Diddy or Sean Combs or whatever, ran the New York City Marathon AND finished. His time was 4 hours, 14 minutes and 54 seconds. I think that is not bad for a guy that I am pretty sure hasn't run any distance in a while. Oh yeah, he also raised $2 million dollars at the same time.

I still can't believe this happened in 2003 and I wasn't aware of it. Hmm, oh well, he did raise money for his charity and a bunch of top names donated, including Ben Affleck, Bruce Willis and Jennifer Lopez.

$10,000 Photo Contest

To sign up is FREE and UPLOAD your photos is easy. A lot of people have a digital camera and to take ONE good photo is becoming easier and easier. I entered this photo into a contest last year and was picked to go on to the next round of voting. It was taken with a simple Kodak Easyshare 5MP digital camera, with the black and white setting. I entered my picture at picture.com and never thought it was good enough after looking at the other submissions. After about 2 weeks or so, I did get a letter in the mail regarding my photo. It was voted to move on in the competition. I was pretty excited to say the least.

I love to take pictures and hopefully capture that amazing photo that is one of a kind. I am really into storms and trying to catch lightening as it flashes around the sky. I found the setting on my camera that allows the "shutter" to stay open longer and collect the "shot" over 8 seconds or so. At night it works perfectly because the only light in the bolt of lightening. Once I got that all worked out, I got this shot. I was in my backyard as the storm rolled in without rain up to this point. I was trying to get my camera pointed in the right direction. After about 15 misses, I figured I would just leave my camera pointing in one direction and hope for the best. Well, the next shot was this one. Amazing, I couldn't believe I got and because I was so excited I ran in the house to download it to my computer right away. What do you think? I think it's weird that it looks like the lightening is actually "pulling" away from the Earth, don't you?

Green Bay Packers Do it Again!

Calling Mortgage Companies Again

Once again, I am calling mortgage companies to see if I can get a better interest rate than the one that I have. Last year I actually dealt with a California mortgage company and that was weird for some people. I live in the Midwest and some could not figure out why my mortgage was with them since they aren't in my state. There isn't any rule that says I have to have money from a bank in my state right? I did not think so.

But anyways, I will be calling and calling for a couple of weeks to see what I can get my rate down to. Lower the better obviously, but you just know it's not something the banks want to offer right away :) Gotta keep on them, that's the key! It would be nice for me to find a Wisconsin Mortgage company, but I am not going to hold my breath. :)

Lord of the Rings Online

In case you didn't already know, I am a gamer type. I like to play MMORPG's like DDO (Dungeons & Dragons Online) and LOTRO (Lord of the Rings Online). As you may know, they are two very different games and I am starting to see the differences every day. I really like the DEPTH of LOTRO, but I hate all the walking. Those of you that have played know exactly what I mean!

Biotene Toothpaste for Sensitive Teeth

I am a part of Payperpost sampling program. This months sample was that of Biotene Sensitive, toothpaste for sensitive teeth. This toothpaste claims to help fight cavities, cure dry mouth and be gentle with your sensitive teeth. Well, I thought this was perfect. I have a couple of teeth that are more sensitive than others. Most people wake up with dry mouth, so I thought this might be a cure when I brush before bed time. And cavities aren't any good, so if it helps that, we're good to go.

I tried the toothpaste 2 times a day (at least) for about 2 weeks. The things that I did notice were that the sensitive toothpaste didn't "lather" up like other pastes that I have used in my day. It has a nice taste to it, sort of minty, with a gel type consistency. I did sort of feel the dry mouth go away for the first part of the day after brushing in the morning, but couldn't tell if it made a difference that much at night.

I have always has sensitive teeth and I noticed that this toothpaste didn't irritate those teeth at all. I have had some teeth that were just bothered the second I put the brush in my mouth. Overall, I am quite happy with the toothpaste, I think that if I keep using it, I will see more results with the dry mouth and cavity prevention. For now, it's definitely worth using the rest of the bottle to experience the results.

Fantasy Football Update

So last week I won in my Yahoo Pro Football Pickem. I am closing in on the leader, I think I am within 10 points. There is a 4 way tie for 2nd place right now and that is what I am a part of. At this point in the season the point spreads become a little harder to pick against. But usually this is when I come out ahead. We'll see how it goes.

Stephen King's The Mist

You have seen the previews for this movie by now. The Mist by Stephen King looks like it will be a one of a kind. At least I can only hope. I am a movie fanatic and love to see originals more than remakes.

One of my favorite Stephen King movies is The Shining. What an original movie and until I saw an episode about ghosts, I never knew that a lot of what happened in the movie, actually was experienced by Stephen King and his wife. While staying at the Stanley Hotel in Colorado, him and his wife just wanted to relax and what came out of it at the end is now known as The Shining. What an excellent story.

This thriller will be the next big thing, I have a feeling. Take a look at the trailer and see what you think. The movie seems to be well made and other reviews that I read about the movie are looking pretty damn good right now. If you are a fan of Stephen Kings books and movies, this one will be another one worth seeing.

After watching the trailer, I am totally pumped. This movie looks good in all aspects except what's in the mist. Take a look and see for your self.

Ghosthunters LIVE Reveal on SciFi

Tonight, actually as I post, the Ghosthunters are showing the footage from the Halloween special last week. There seemed to be plenty of personal experiences, but I wasn't very impressed by the footage that was presented. I just can't figure out, for the life of me, why they don't offer more angles and more cameras. If I was a Ghosthunter (hey we can all dream) I would have more cameras than you could shake a stick at, but that's just the way I do things :)

I think next week's show will have some previews from season 4 coming next year and a roundtable discussion looking back at the Ghosthunters favorite episodes. Stay tuned.

I little while back I was thinking about a web site that would have just polls on it. People could come to the site and submit answers to various posts and from that data maybe we could change the world. Well alright, maybe not change the world, but you could at least see what other people think about certain topics.

Today, I came across Quibblo.com. The site is almost exactly what I had pictured. They have TV quizzes, random polls and myspace type quizzes, too. It sort of freaked me out a little because I seemed to have this same idea a couple of months back. Fiance Started a Blog, Give it a Visit or Two

Football Pool Winner This Week

Yup, this week I won the football pool that I am in every single year. We get about 10-15 people together and run a pool through Yahoo Pro Football Pickem. This year we decided to just pick the winners against the spread. Other years we used confidence points, where you would put a point value based on how confident you were on your pick.

So week 8 and I finally won. Each year I usually collect on 2-3 weeks for sure, so I hope this all works out in the end. I also usually finish in the top 3-4. The payout isn't all that much, but winning one time gets my entry fee back, which is nice.

See Comet without Equipment

Today I read on MSN that you will be able to see the comet, Comet 17P/Holmes, with the naked eye. And not only that, they show could go on for a couple of weeks.

The comet is exploding and its coma, a cloud of gas and dust illuminated by the sun, has grown to be bigger than the planet Jupiter

With that being said, you should be able to see this comet in the north sky, as a fuzzy dot in the constellation Perseus. The bright dot should appear about as large as the stars in the big dipper. The only thing is the comet does not have a tail like most other comets. This will make it a little more difficult to see.

Keep an eye out tonight if it's clear to the north of you. It's a once in a lifetime event. The comet had only been visible with telescope, but has recently gotten brighter, thus allowing you to see it with your naked eye.

Cheating Husband Loses Car

My fiance always said, "beware of a woman scorned". This came to mind almost right away when I saw this interesting ad on a UK used car web site. 40,000 year sentence, what's the bright side?

The sentence handed down to 21 people involved in the Madrid bombings is insane. I don't mean it shouldn't be what it is, what I mean is, 40,000 years in prison, is INSANE.

191 people killed and 1856 people injured. According to Spain, that's 30 years per person killed by a terrorist attack and 20 years for each injured person. For a grand total of 37,120 years in prison and that's for 2 of the 3 guys. Remembering that it was a terrorist attack adds more time automatically.

Oh yeah the bright side.

To make matters worse, they will be out in 40 years, Spain's maximum prison sentence. So, why deal with big numbers then if you can't implement them? It's all a show I guess. In the US, a judge will sentence 2 or 3 life sentences consecutively just to make sure the perp stays put, but that is not always the case throughout the world.

Just a weird little thing that caught my eye today on MSN.com.

Unfair Bank Charges

You know you hate to see it. Bank Charges on your account, but you are not sure where they came from or what they are for. If you haven't already, you can dispute the charges. Banks tend to make most of their money for bounced check fees or overdrawn limits on accounts. They will charge everytime and sometimes without warning. Obviously when you signed up, you read the agreement, but sometimes they slip one by you. If you don't notice, that's free money for the bank.

Keep an eye on your records and always question anything you are not sure of. This will keep the banks honest and maybe reduce the amount of times the banks charge unlawfully.

If you don't know what that is, it's a web site that brings advertisers and bloggers together. The advertiser wants links or exposure for their business so they use Payperpost.com as a middle man. Payperpost takes the ad and shows it to eligible bloggers (based on PR, Alexa & Tack rating). Once a blogger takes the "opp", they get paid, Payperpost takes a cut and the advertiser pays for both.

You will see more paid posts here, but they will never take over the regular content of this blog.

Do people actually reply to online ads to meet?

Reading a story on MSN.com today, I see that a woman was killed after responding to an ad on the popular web site Craigslist.org. I thought to myself, why the heck are people doing this? Not that every single person replying to an ad is getting killed, but in this day in age, when the country is full of wackos, what are you thinking?

The ad was for a babysitting job. Innocent enough right? Well, when she arrived, she would be shot in the back and stuffed into the trunk of her own car. The car was then left in a park overnight where officers found it and ultimately arrested the 19 year old man who's account was used to place the ad.

The 19 year old claimed that a friend of his killed the woman, he was only present, because he "thought it would be funny". Damn kids.

And it would appear that federal law is on his side. Section 108 of the 1975 Magnuson-Moss Act, states that, "In general, tie-in sales provisions are not allowed. Such a provision would require a purchaser of the warranted product to buy an item or service from a particular company to use with the warranted product in order to be eligible to receive a remedy under the warranty."

Drew Carey just not the same

The newest host of the Price is Right, Drew Carey, just doesn't cut it for me. I watched an episode today. It just wasn't the same. Maybe I am too used to the voice of Bob Barker, but it also seemed like Drew Carey was rushing himself and others to get through the show. I read somewhere that he does a little stand up between commercials, but obviously I didn't see that on the TV show.

Maybe it will just take a little getting used to, hopefully, the show used to be fun to watch.

Prison Overcrowding Story by Ted Koppel

I just finished watching a story by Ted Koppel about prison overcrowding. I am not sure what channel it was on, but it was recorded by my DVR about 2 weeks ago, so I finally sat down to watch it. This country is really in some major trouble. The story was in California and they have the 3 strikes law in FULL affect. You do 3 crimes you are in prison for 25 to life, no questions asked. Since that law has gone into affect, the prison population has climbed almost 3x.

"Prison warehouses", as they are called, are just that warehouses with bunks for inmates. Now, don't get me wrong, they get what they deserve, but the one thing that bothered me the most was that when a inmate gets out of prison, he goes back to the SAME city or town where he was before he went in.

No big deal right? Wrong, why do you think there are so many inmates that have been in prison more than 1 or 2 times? The "demons" are waiting for them when they get back! Another thing that was sort of troubling was the fact that some inmates don't have any opportunity to better themselves, because the state is cutting back on everything they need to get an education in prison, if they choose to go that route.

I know they should have thought about the before they committed crimes, but the country is really in a tight spot. I will never say to let them out, it's overcrowded, but I think the 3 strikes law should have been more detailed. Not, you got caught stealing a pack of smokes 3 times? You get life. What sense does that make. And if you thought segregation was bad in the city you live in? Think about prison. That is the most segregated place on earth, any prison. The whites with the whites, blacks with the blacks and so forth. The prison officials do this "to keep it safer for everyone involved in the prison system".

Isn't that a farce? They promote segregation, so that when the African American or white American gets out after 10 years of segregation, that is all he is used to? Where does the most recent rise in racial tension come from? Prisons. Without a doubt.
